SmallHD’s AC7 Monitor uses OLED technology to deliver the most beautiful image of any on-camera monitor. Simply put, the AC7 OLED monitor’s 1280×800 pixel images produce the richest, most accurate colors available.
Each OLED pixel in the AC7’s generous 7.7″ screen consists of a red, blue and green LED, as opposed to an LCD panel where a colored filter simply covers a white LCD backlight array. As a result OLED displays are much more vivid. OLED color gamut also represents a massive increase in displayed color for better clarity and more accurate color reproduction. The AC7’s contrast ratio also superior to LCD monitors because OLED black pixels are literally off, creating a contrast ratio that is virtually infinity-to-one. A side-effect of such a high contrast ratio is a much higher perceived brightness. The reason for this is as the human eye becomes accustomed to vivid dark values, lighter tones appear extremely bright.
As with all SmallHD monitors, the AC7 is milled from a solid block of lightweight aluminum making it extremely strong and capable of standing up to the rigors of real-world production.
