The Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 Lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras has an extremely fast maximum aperture of f/0.95 a full stop faster than very fast f/1.4 lenses. This 25mm lens is equivalent to a 50mm lens in 35mm format and delivers an extremely shallow depth-of-field at it’swidest aperture.
With no electronic connection to the camera, this lens is strictly manual focus and exposure. While the Nokton is “old-school” glass requiring the same level of attention as manual lenses of the past, it’s shallow depth-of-field rewards are well worth the effort. The lens is also excellent for close focus applications with it’s ability to focus to within 6.7″ (17 cm) of a subject.
